About the care team
Each day the team caring for your loved one spends time at the bedside discussing and planning their care.
Families are welcome during this time — please speak with your nurse if you wish to be present. Time for questions may be limited, however formally organized meetings can be arranged.
Each week a critical care specialist physician will guide your family member's medical care. Physician specialists and trainees from other services may also be involved in the medical care of your loved one.
Critical care nurses are specially trained to respond to the complex needs of your family member. Visitors are encouraged to ask the bedside nurse for updates. Each nurse looks after one to two patients.
